Spots life

Hi all
I have managed to display spots on the panadapter.
These spots will not disappear intill I delete them individually.
Is there a way to tell the system somewhere along the line to delete spots after a certain time ?
If not, that would be nice to implement on an update to come.
Thanks + 73

Yes, it is usually found in the associated software in use with SSDR. Look for a setting called "Age of spots" or something similar.

What software are you using to send spots to the Flex?0

Spot Collector

I use Slicemaster and as John mentioned, there is a Duration parameter. See if there is something similar in Spot Collector0

In DXLab using Spotcollector, I set the spot lifetime in the Commander config window. Click on the "bandspread" tab then look for "spot lilfetime" and the duration setting. GL1

This is step 2.b in "How to" documentation:
https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/FlexSignatureDisplayCallsigns
The entry in the Reference Documentation for the "Spot Lifetime" setting is here:

Hi In slicemaster go to three dots tab and change band maps then persistance and change to 1 which is one minute. 73 John ZL3TRR0

Reminder: SpotCollector collects spots, but displays active stations (not spots). Each spot is entered into a database of currently active stations - either updating an existing entry, or creating a new entry. Each entry in the database maintains information like
- when the station was first spotted
- when the station was most recently spotted, and with what split frequency
- from which locations the station has been spotted
- the distance from your QTH to the location of the closest spotting station
- shortpath and longpath propagation forecasts (probability of an opening) by the VOACAP engine
- whether a QSO with the station would advance your progress towards the awards you are pursuing(DXCC, IOTA, Leaderboard, Marathon, WAS, WAZ, WPX)
Information from the Spot Database is independently displayed in tabular form, on a world map, on a frequency-vs-time propagation display, on a vertical bandspread, and on SmartSDR's panadaptor:
The creation of a new Spot Database Entry for a station with whom a QSO would advance your award progress can also trigger a voice announcement, an email message, or an SMS (text) message.
A database of active stations enables you to identify propagation openings between your QTH and the QTHs of "needed" stations, and enables you to learn the operating patterns of "needed" stations. With this information, you can focus your listening on bands and times likely to produce needed QSOs.1
