Dax and Cat periodically drop out when using WSJTX

Using v3.0.27 and a 6400M, when I use WSJTX, periodically the Dax and Cat screens both say Radio Not Connected and my connection to WSJTX is gone, then sometimes Dax and Cat will re-enable on their own but then drop out again.
Could this be a problem with my bandwidth? Any ideas?

Most probably RFI getting into your computer. I don't run much FT8, but I keep CW Skimmer up and I see the same thing here frequently if I'm running the amp. DAX will go incative. I've been too lazy to track it down, but it will even cause a loss of connection with the radio in SSB if I'm running more than 500w. I need to track it down...put shielded cable to the router and/or go with fiber adapters wherever I can. I've seldom seen the problem when I'm running barefoot.0

Thx, I’m only running 50 watts.
I am sending the Flex to a WiFi extender instead of using a cable.
I’m going to run my pc and my Flex through a switch together.
I’m hoping that will solve it.0 -
Using an Ethernet switch fixed this problem.0

I am having the same problem with CAT dropping out and the display stating I cannot connect to the radio (6600) because it does not have an internet connection while the SDR display indicates 5 bars for the internet with no packet dropouts. I am only running 40 watts and the problem just started today with no other changes in the station. I have been successfully using FT8 for a month.

I did a test a few weeks ago to test the viability of doing only wireless for LAN connection comp to flex. Using the flex lan monitor, I could see wide variations in the latency on the wireless connection. Monitored wireless feed was running at 130 Mbs. Latency varied from 400 ms to 7 ms. There is not enough buffering to handle this wide variation. The level of wireless traffic in my nearby neighborhood is heavy these days. It is difficult to find channel’s on both 2.4 and 5 GHz that are unused at any signal strength. This compared to direct via gig Ethernet switch with latency’s of 1 to 4 ms max. So for me the choice was to stay with direct wired. My services connect via WiFi to the internet.1
