SmartSDR with VM Ware and Windows 10 on a MacBookPro

SmartSDR with VM Ware and Windows 10 on a Mac.. With this setup, my 6600M doesn't get recognized. Virtually everything else I try using the PC format does.. Thoughts?

    Richard,

You may have to put your VMWare Windows instance in "Bridged" network mode so it looks like a PC on your regular LAN.  This will also allow the UDP traffic to pass.

So, to add to this, the radio communicates via Vita 49 packets on Layer 2.  In order to have your VM function, the IP addresses on the LAN adapter cards on the VM must be the same subnet as the actual subnet the radio is on.

You will need to make sure you don't have any IP  addressing conflicts and the VM will have to 'look like' it is on the same subnet.

So, what does that mean.  If the radio subnet is 192.168.1.****, then all IP addresses will have to start with 192.168.1.

You are getting into some advanced networking and IP stuff, but the good news is that with Google searches you will find someone else who has done all this.

Like Mark said, this could be as simple as Network bridging.

There are easy ways to make this work, and then there are less easy ways!  LOL.  You could also use DogParkSDR as many do.
