Running 6600 off battery

New 6600 owner. Looked thru archives and didn't readliy find anything.
Have a 12v 100ah AGM battery in my shack that I use for emergency/backup power. It's wired in thru a battery switch to my DC power ****. I'm a former K3 user and the K3 ran fine off this battery ( K3 rqmts  11-15v/ 22A max) . So the manual for the 6600 says
"13.8 VDC @ 25 amps .  Any voltage deviation from 13.8 VDC will result in lower power output that the 100W nominal specification."
--- So wondering if anyone has had any experience running a 6600 off a battery similar to mine. Is there any potential harm to the 6600 running off a battery at ~12.5-12.6v??

    Paul,

    It will work fine from your battery and will not harm the radio if the voltage drops too much. You may get a few watts less output power.

    When the voltage drops too low, the radio will shutdown.  If the voltage rises, it might then try to reboot.

    The radio runs much better when directly connected to the battery.
    • I use #8 with an inline marine breaker then to a 70A power pole connector to a 70A to 4X45A adapter plug, then #10 (45A power poles) to the rig.
    • The battery maintains better than 14V and surge currents do not matter as the power supply loafs along supplying a steady charge current, normally well under 10A
    • When off battery I have a 70A power pole on a 35A switching power supply that matches the distribution 70A-4x45A PP plug
