Lost password routine? Think that might work. 73 Steve K9ZW0

I wish it had a guest login that could be activated so you could share the radio if you wanted.4

Agreed on the guest login. Maybe in the future.
I posted it would be nice to have an "admin" regular login where you can do anything and a guest login where you could control a few things. I mean for starters as a guest login I'd like to:
1) Limit bands the guest can operate
2) Limit max power
3) Disallow any setup changes (network etc)
That would make it nice and more secure for guest use.3 -
Yes, I agree after playing with V2.0 for a while an letting my friend test drive v2.0 with my station, he manage to unregister it and had to fix things.

See Kenwood & Icom have both Client & Server of their software where V2.0 can
be dangerous in the hands of a guest by messing up the setup to the radio !0 -
Also, notice that a sequence in resetting had to done to restore
SmartLink
1. Router only on, forward TCP & UDP ports on Router
2.) Next with UPnP enable on Router
3.) Turn on Flex6xxx connected to PC thru Ethernet
4.) Register Radio with PTT
5.) Enable Smartlink UPNP ports
6.) Make sure Green Light on Smartlink under TEST is green
for both Automatic UPnP ports & Manual Forward Ports
7.) Test V2.0.17 with LAN & WAN(outside)
8.) Good to go !!!
9.) If a guest login later, things get messed up since the guest can Unregister the
Flex6xxx and since he has no access to PTT register, system fails
10.) Repeat sequence above starting with everything off except router !!!
Begin process steps from above !!0 -
That is the answer.0

I do not have a lost password.
I want to CHANGE the password after the remote feature was tried by a friend who is a potential FLEX customer.
Unless something has changed recently it seems WAY TOO COMPLICATED to simply change the password. It is keeping me from allowing others far away to try out my FLEX.

Lost password has same effect as a dedicated routine....0

Unregister Smartlink from your radio and reregister with your new password.
