ARRL DX Contest and my FLEX 6500

I only contest in two long contest a year and ARRL DX contest is one of them and a favorite. The FLEX 6500 was rock solid for the 28 hours I put to in to it. I was about 16 hours into the contest and my FLEX Control locked up, I'm so happy FLEX has servals way to change frequencies. Yes I hunted and pounced without a FLEX Control my QSO rate fell a little bit. The muscle memory was the main issue I kept reaching for the my Knob.

The Conditions was not the best we had a G1 happening. My Flex 6500 was able to hear the weak Europeans. Even 10m opened up that was nice.

My Flex Control was bought the same time I ordered my FLEX 6500 it was delivered in Aug 2013 so 3+ years of service before failure. While listening to one the PJ's calling CQ contest and I was eating lunch I ordered a new FLEX Control.

Glad Tim listed the parts of a FLEX Control I will over time order the parts and repair my FC.

The Contest was fun and I will do it again with two FC this time.
