I must be doing something wrong, please can someone help (Barry N1EU?). I'm using N1MM+ (com7 winkeyer (ssdr emulated) and com 4 ptt) with these settings also reflected in SSDR cat. When I press the keyboard function keys to send messages from N1MM+ I get unwanted Breakin cw sent from the 6500 with an unwanted imposed delay setting as selected in SSDR (please can contributers not suggest other ways of keying, like using the hardware version of winkeyer... I am currently interested in this single issue which is confusing enough, thanks). I expect SSDR to hold PTT on (as instructed) for the entire message sent from N1MM+ no matter what the keyer speed is set to (as indeed happens with any other transceiver hooked up with N1MM+). Instead I get a popping TX/RX in my phones followed by the rx missing the first part of a fast returned callsign (due to the imposed delay from SSDR). In SSDR, disabling the 'Breakin' function only serves to **** the input from my connected iambic paddle (normal behaviour). I never use Breakin for contesting as I have no wish to hear the madness of uncalled operators still trying to work me when I'm replying to someone in particular. I would like SSDR to work as it does now, but, when an internal PTT signal comes in from an application, it should override all Breakin behaviour. Any help, especially from contesters would be appreciated.

sorry, several months back when I actually was contesting with my 6500 I found it necessary to use a physical, not emulated, WinKey USB; I'm unable to give any updated advice

OK thanks Barry, I really like the idea of minimal cabling and the emulated winkey was a nice idea from flex. It's frustrating that I can't use it for contesting.0
