    I would like the ability to save the meter settings and have it associated with an icon.  As I start a pan adapter I can click on a unique icon and have the a meter start with the correct com port settings started.

    You can do that already in the latest version by passing the correct arguments on the command line in the shortcut, and changing the Icon as well.
