popping sounds on AM mode

Whilest operating on top band AM mode and running 5w, I was told that my audio had a popping sound and I then heard the popping on receive as well. Curiously, this only happens when tuned into a station on receive and not when listening to band noise.
Now, it seems that my previous f3k had the same issue and it was returned along with all the woes. Has anyone else experienced this problem ? I changed psu's but still had the same popping sound. I did not change antennas though, but will try it just incase.
I did notice that on another thread, someone else had a similar issue and wonder if its related?

Try changing the sampling rate to a lower value. If the popping sound goes away, then your Firewire adapter is not handing the streaming data rate of 96k and may have to be replaced. A failing Firewire cable can cause the same behavior.0

Hi Tim, I will try it out later this afternoon, when the AM net get going. I am however using a good quality firewire cable but wonder if the win10 driver / card might be an issue. I will check with the maker's website.

It is possible that the issue is Win10 interacting with your Firewire card, but this is the first report of anything like this happening with the FLEX-3000. Lowering the sampling rate will provide some useful troubleshooting data.0

Another though is that I also have the 1500 connected to a usb port but also use the same "menu selector" to select either transceiver as I use them, but never together...hi. I have now disconnected the 1500 usb cable and see if that makes a difference. The net starts in 30min or so.0

On the net now and changing the latency, sampling rate makes no difference at all.

Ok, I uninstalled then re-installed the software and drivers, so will test AM mode again tomorrow on the net. I did find another fw cable, but it has a different connection on one end, more like a enlarged phone type connection which is not what I need. I will order another cable just incase.

John - I think it would be best for you to submit a HelpDesk ticket so we can do some one-on-one troubleshooting, so I am going to change this post to a problem topic and convert it to a support HelpDesk ticket (http://helpdesk.flexradio.com) for expedited issue resolution. If anyone else is experiencing an issue similar to this one, please submit a HelpDesk support ticket for issue resolution.

Ok, well the problem was not with the transceiver but was traced to my logitech C910 webcam which I had running 24/7 as a security system. The webcam was connected to a usb3 port for better night time images under normal street lighting. Running latency monitor software, The results were mostly in the red. switch off the webcam had no effect and I had to unplug it from the usb3 port, before I got all green bars. Another test today on a AM net on top band, revealed clean good audio as expected from a flex transceiver.
Thanks to Dudley for the pointers and help. I expect him to make a comment as well.
ps. The webcam is now running off a dedicated computer.
