Has anyone seen this on 30m before?

Exactly a week ago I saw this exact same noise on 30m, and here it is again tonight. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Tuning through it, it sounds like a series of "buzzes", but it sure does tear up the band. Does anyone else in the Austin or other areas see this? I don't know whether to start looking locally or whether it's something more "global."

Thanks in advance and 73, Duane AC5AA

It sounds like Russian "over the horizon" radar. Go to http://www.sigidwiki.com/wiki/Category:Radar
They have a bunch of waterfall displays with audio.

There are lots of HF radar sites, in Russia, China, Australia, Cypress and others scattered around the world. Most of them have multiple HF sites You can google OTHR with a country name and see public info as to lat / long and output power guesses. You can also take the lat - long and use google earth to see the actual antennas, some of them over one mile long. Impressive and tells you why, even when the bands are dead, you can still see these sweep modulation transmitters chirp their way across the HF bands.
Cheers
