A fellow Ham asked me recently....Is it, or will it be possible to transmit and receive using the 6700, direct into the Internet via a Computer, hence without using an antenna or generating any RF??

No.  Remote access refers to accessing the FLEX-6000 radio hardware remotely and operating it as if you were physically located adjacent to the radio.

????? The purpose of a radio is to use an antenna to send/receive RF.  The question therefore is meaningless.

That would make the 6700 one expensive router / Skype gateway.

Who needs an expensive rig to play VOIP ham radio over the internet. Isn't that what people are doing with CQ100? I've never played it, but it is already being enjoyed by many people.
