ATU Speedup

As I was jumping around on different bands today, I was really surprised at how long it took the atu to do it's thing. Has the tuning algorithm been optimized or can additional review be done to see if the process can be speeded up?

Currently the ATU does a full tune every time it tunes. Memory tuning has not been implemented.

By memory tune, do you mean that it remembers a frequency, starts out at the last setting for that frequency, and then "tweaks" it the final bit? That would be very nice.... Especially if it remembers which antenna/port it was tuning, too, to it could keep track of two different antennas and their last, best settings.

    Yes, exactly that.

This should be part of an upgrade as memory tuning has been around a long time.  I have an MFJ-998 that does a great job.  I have a 6500 coming and if the tuner does a full tune every time, my MFJ-998 will be used and the internal tuner will be disabled.

That is a shame considering the cost of it. I can get an LDG AT 600 Pro II for a few dollars more. For half the price I would buy one, but not a penny more.

The ATU sounds like mediocre kit at top quality price to me. The FlexRadio DOES do a full tune each time.

As much as an internal ATU would make my life easier, at the current price it just ain't going to happen. I will be buying a 6300 soon and will be getting an eternal ATU.
