6500, win7 64, amd quad core: i'm on 160m cw, fast agc, AGC-T around 50, pre-amp 1 on, listening on HiZ 4 square. I have power line noise around s-5 to s-6 to the northwest. nobody else on the band, so i get / need to crank NB up to about 90 or so to get any effective noise blanking. call 'CQ DX', switch back to receive. takes 5 or 10 seconds for receiver to come back to full sensitivity; it does so gradually, almost like i'm running very very very slow AGC.

That is normal. It may take several seconds for the DSP NB algorithms to "train" on the noise signature and converge to provide effective noise blanking.0

Is it possible to have the NB to remember the numbers it had when going to TX and start from that point upon return to receive and not need to retrain itself every TX/RX cycle? The noise situation doesn't usually change that drastically between transmissions. (Or am I missing something?)0

I agree. The current iteration of the NB is pretty bad. IF you can get it to engage, it works well...but then seems to forget what it's supposed to be doing after about 10 - 15 seconds. Then you have to do OffOnOffOnOffOn until it engages again. Annoying.0

I have converted this post to a problem topic and entered it into the bug tracker for further investigation.0
