With Windows 8.1 coming out soon, is there any official word on SSDR and PSDR compatibility with the latest from Microsoft? Thanks/73 Geo

Does this imply that Win 8.0 doesn't work? Im going to try as my Win 7 machine cratered and Win 8 is all I could find as a replacement. I'll let you know. If you know Win 8.0 doesnt work let me know ASAP please and I will not open the shipment of the new Win 8.0 computer! Robert Cline0

8.1 runs fine. I used it all weekend on the QSO party without any issue.3

Win 8 is fine.0

I've been using Win 8.0 for a while now, including all versions of SSDR from the preview releases through 1.0.0 - no problems.0

Win 8 works fine, as a matter of fact it works better than Win 7.0

I think the OP was asking whether or not the decimal update from Win 8.0 to 8.1 "broke" anything that would cause any problems for SSDR. (Sometimes these "upgrades" cause unintended frustrations like that.) K6OZY's report that 8.1 worked all weekend for the QSO party is comforting. Thanks, OZY. My 8.0 works great, but I also was a bit nervous about letting my computer upgrade to 8.1.0

I can also confirm that my Windows 8.1 64-bit installation is working well for me with both SmartSDR (Flex 6700) an PowerSDR (Flex 5000A). Keith - AE5XN0

Please note that with Windows 8.1, Microsoft introduced Dynamic DPI scaling, similar to what OS X has had for over a year now with their Retina laptops. This means that the size of the fonts and desktop elements are uncoupled from the local desktops native resolutions. This is a great advance as its required for when we move into the 4K screens that are just around the corner. SmartSDR v1.0 is exhibiting a scaling issue with this. When you install W8.1, Dynamic scaling is enabled by default. You will notice in SmartSDR that the text and other elements, mostly on the Transmit Windows are much larger and don't all fit on the screen vertically when running on a 1080p screen. I'm sure FRS will address this, but for now, if this bothers you, you can go into the preferences and disable it. If you set the desktop scaling to 100%, it will look just as Windows 7 and 8 did.0
