Audacity & Win11 ?
Running 8600 v4.2.20 on win 11 pc. I have used Audacity v3.7.8 to record messages that I want to use with SSDR DVK. When I try to import one of the recorded
.wav files, I get the first attached message. So I changed Audacity
settings to 22050 sample ( didn't see 24k available ) and 16bit format.
When I tried to import that .wav file, I got the second attached msg.
So I need some advice on what settings to make in Audacity — so SSDR DVR will accept them as an upload ??
Screen shot of proper Audacity settings would be super

Great idea - and when downloaded - no content
which led me to issue -Dumb mistake on this end - I had Vox off - thus no content
With VOX on messages recording properly - Embarrassing but…
Thanks for help and getting me to a solution

Glad the problem was found, and rest assured, nobody's perfect—and as long as it's just little things like that, it makes life more interesting.

Thanks very much for the help. So got the Audacity msg recorded and now was able to upload into DVR. But when I play the message - there is a 2-3 second delay before it starts. I did trim the Audacity msg at the beginning and end, so there is no delay in the recording. any thoughts?
Related question- I also tried recording a message with DVR- It shows that a message was recorded and length in seconds, and when I play the message and the radio goes to Tx - BUT I am not hearing anything - don't hear the message being played??

I've also experienced this “phenomenon” with my GoldWave audio software. If I remember correctly, I had to copy the usable portion of the audio and paste it into a new file. Only then did the audio sound the way I wanted it to.
The recording with the DVR uses the selected microphone. If you want to see the signal level, the level meter should be enabled for reception in the radio setup under Phone/CW.
If you can listen to the message via preview, the power indicator should follow the voice level during transmission.
When transmitting, the monitor must be turned on so you can hear anything.

The messages I recorded in Audacity play correctly in SSDR after the delay
the messages recorded ins SSDR
- I can't hear in preview - no meter movement
-when i play one for real - Mox turns blue , but there is no meter movement and no power out

But just to clarify—as I understand it, your audio file that was recorded with Audacity and uploaded is also being transmitted.
The file you record on the SDR isn't transmitting anything?
If you download the recording and open it in Audacity, does it have any content?
