No TX Audio - tried everything in the manual

Configuration:
Sennheiser HMD 26-II headset
Behringer U-PHORIA UM2
Macbook Pro 2020 M1
Tahoe 26.5.2
SmartSDR 2.9.127
Flex 6600M - running 4.2.18
If I open the mac settings- audio input is set to "USB Audio CODEC" and when I speak, I can see the "input level" graph on the mac move.
The "gear" icon on SmartSDR shows "USB Audio CODEC" as the input.
If I switch to using the smartSDR FT8 tool, I can see the audio level and RF power meters going up.
If I change to USB, turn DAX off, press MOX and start talking, the audio level meter doesn't change. I can turn the MIC slider up all the way, and I can see the Level meter moving with what looks like background noise, but when I speak it doesn't go higher. I've tried several mic profiles. I turned the TX equalizer off, low cut=100, high cut =2900 which seems like reasonable values, but I can't transmit voice!
Any help on what I might be missing would be appreciated!

Thank you, that was it! Now if I can just figure out why my FT8 calls/responses go unanswered...0
