DXLog SSDR v4.2.20 focus helper Win11 8600
This post could fit contesting or 3rd party software. Since this logger is mainly used for contesting I selected "contesting".
This may have been present for some time now , but I remember from the past that SmartSDR's focus helper could have worked a little better for DXLog. I just tried it again today and it now works like a champ. Instantaneous focus on the entry window for DXLog after placing focus on the pan adapter with the mouse ( ie single clicking a new freq on the pan adapter ). The transition from focus on the pan adapter to automatic focus on the logger is instantaneous and flawless. Very nice.
In settings….focus helper….I selected "other" and DXLog.net auto populated. I don't remember if I once entered DXLog.net manually and the puter remembered my entry or if it just auto populates w/ DXLogger running, regardless the performance is flawless.
For whatever reason, another un named logger , will lose contact with SmartSDR ( while operating cw or rtty ) even when focus is on the logger. At random times, my 8600 will refuse to transmit when commanded to do so by the logger. In cw , I can use the logger's "cw Keyboard " option and that will force the radio into transmit and return the transmit commands made by the logger entry window. I imagine the same can be done for rtty but I have not tried. Bottom line , it is much better when the radio transmit 100% of the time when commanded by the logger vice not. AFAIK, I am not doing anything unordinary to lose the ability to transmit the radio via this logger. I have used this logger for a very long time with Flex products and have experienced no issues. Thus the transition to DXLog. Reliability is king.
Thanks Flex team for assisting the DXLog team
