Friend in NY bought 8400 + Maestro C. I have Maestro C. Connect to his radio but neither of us can activate VFO B. When I connect via Smart Link I'm on VFOA I get the blue square "A" in upper left corner; VFO B shows a Blank Blue Square. If I deselect VFO A RX. There are two blue blank squares for A and B. When I select RX for VFO B, nothing happens. When I reselect VFO A RX, it turns green and VFO B square turns Grey.

How do I get VFO B to work properly OR how to I wipe out all slices and Panadapters? When I have blank Blue Square A and blank Blue Square B I get message: "Panadapter limit has been reached. Close a Panadapter and try again". How to do that?

Hi Tom, when two clients (stations) are connected to a radio using MultiFlex, each shows Slice A. The 8400 only has two available slices, so if each station has a slice open, there are no more slices available. If one station closes its slice, then the other can open two slices (A and B).

The slice or panadapter mentioned in the message can be on the other station. If your friend shuts off his Maestro, you will be able to open two panadapters and two slices.
