The Flex is advertised as a plug and play device that doesn't require a software engineer degree to install. Well my ISP is cgNAT and will be going to IP6 soon or so they say. Flex does not support either and is pondering doing IP6. Here's the info on CGNat.
Percentage of ISPs Using CGNAT
As of 2016, approximately 28.85% of studied Internet Service Provider (ISP) deployments were utilizing Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT). This technology is particularly prevalent in mobile operator networks, allowing multiple users to share a single public IP address.
Key Points
CGNAT Usage: 28.85% of ISPs
Primary Application: Mobile operator networks
Purpose: To manage IPv4 address exhaustion by allowing many users to share a limited number of public IP addresses
This percentage reflects the growing need for ISPs to efficiently allocate their limited IPv4 resources while transitioning to newer technologies like IPv6.
