How to Reinstall last version software in the Flex8400

Hello all,

My flexRadio is upgraded with the last version software (4.2.18) but I still have problem with APD. I want to try a niew install from that version but I don't find the way to do that. Should I downgrade my FleX8400 to the previous version (4.1.13) to be able to retry a new upgrade to the last version or is it a way to reload that software directly without downgrade first?

I do not see any advantage and additionally I advocate exercising some care.

There is not any version 4.1.13 (prior to 4.2.18 was 4.1.5) and so far as the radio is concerned, doubts about operation are best dealt with by a factory reset that will give you a clean 4.2.18 in the radio

Reset done, nothing has changed. APD always stuck in Calib mode . Don't go to Active…

I have found with my AU-520M that APD will stay in Calibrating until I key the microphone and speak a little bit. Then, it will show Active on the front panel display and in SmartSDR. If I go too long without transmitting, it will drop back to Calibrating again. Since it is "Adaptive Pre-Destortion ", instead of Static Pre-Destortion like Icom uses, it may make sense that it doesn't keep the same transmit settings for APD all of the time. My Anan radios use APD as well. Once they lock on they stay Activated until something changes during transmission.

    Hello.

Thank you for your advice. I've already tried many things to solve this problem, but nothing works. I performed a cold boot of my Flex8400 and tested the APD function on a clean configuration with the default profile. The problem persists. I had a 45-minute QSO on 10 meters SSB with some friends... it didn't change anything. I've tried different combinations of microphone gain, transmit power, with and without a processor, different frequencies (40m, 20m, 10m...) without success. I've tried different antennas, with a dummy load... without any results. My contacts find the modulation very good, and I have sufficient level/compression. The only thing I haven't done yet is downgrade to 4.1.3 and then upgrade again to 4.2.18. I'm lost... It worked perfectly with the previous version (4.1.3). Nothing has changed in my setup.

Well, to some extent the effect of APD may not be apparent to listeners. If its doing anything, monitoring the transmitted bandwidth with/without should show less bandwidth at the upper/lower limits with it on.
