Saving mode as part of a global profile

I'm assuming I've missed a step or something, but I'm having an issue with creating a global profile. I just recently bought a FLEX-8400, and now I'm playing a bit with digital modes.

After doing that for a bit, I realized that I would need to remember to switch back and forth between DIGU and USB across all the bands, so I created a voice profile and a digital profile.

However - it seems that mode isn't actually getting saved as part of the profile. Anyone have suggestions on what I might have done wrong?

When you create a Global Profile, you include a Microphone Profile, a Transmit Profile and then the Global Profile is made up of the the Slice Parameters which include mode as well as frequency and several others. See this Flex video from minute 12:30 onwards

Thanks Erik. That's what I was already doing, but watching the video made me realize the issue. I was thinking I could change the settings on each band to what I wanted, and then save a "global" profile that would store all the settings for all bands. But given that it's saving _slice_ settings, the fact that it only applies to one band makes sense.

I suggest considering FRstacks. It has a number of memory options, which save considerable more items than the Flex profiles and are easier to manage. They dont have to be saved and reloaded as the Flex profiles require in some circumstances. Free download, easy to install and many useful functions.

I'm already using FRStacks, but the initial reason I got it was for the Stream Deck integration, so I haven't yet dived deeper into what else it can do. I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Side note: back in around 2010, I had a Flex 5000, and I had an app to allow use of a MIDI controller (some Behringer model - I forget which). When I was researching the 8400, I was sad to discover that there was no MIDI support in SmartSDR. But then I found FRStacks, and it's a MUCH nicer solution overall (no more having to remember "what exactly did I assign to the button or slider?").
