Operating remote - WOW

I just have to say how cool it is to operate remote! I've had my Icom 7300 since they came out, but after hearing about Flex for so long, mostly from the Ham Radio Workbench podcast, I picked up a new to me 6600. I do alot of SOTA activations, and also love to chase. I miss alot of chasing opportunites because I'm at work, so I decided to remedy that. I'm fairly decent with computers, but am far from any kind of IT or network person. I have to say, setting up my 6600 to work remote was very straightforward and simple. I got the SmartSDR for iOS, and in the first week I was able to make an SSB qso as well as a cw qso for 2 different SOTA activators - just using my iPhone. I'm sure that I don't have everything configured optimally yet, but that will come. And this post is by no means meant to say that Flex is the best, or that others aren't as good. I'm just super happy that it was this easy to get started, and I can't wait to figure out more, and learn from others!
