FlexControl disconnects Windows 11

The first thing that happens is when I had first installed SmartSDR on my Windows 11 machine, the AUX button on the FlexControl would randomly change from AUX2 to AUX3. This has stopped happening though. I assume a driver update has taken care of that. So all is good now.

The second issues is that sometimes when starting SmartSDR, the FlexControl either does not seem to be recognized by the software or it suddenly loses connection to the controller. However, if I restart SmartSDR, the FlexControl starts functioning again.

This seems to happen the first time I start SmartSDR after the computer was asleep ( I usually sleep my computer rather then turn the power off at night. The computer starts up faster that way.)

This didn't seem to happen on my Windows 10 PC. Not a big concern, just wondering if others have had this happen.

Running 4.0.1

Thanks

My experience with the Flex Control is similar. I see that if I try to change from one button to another nothing happens initially but after pressing other buttons repeatedly it will respond.

Occasionally it becomes total unresponsive and I believe either unplugging the USB connector and reconnecting it, restarting SmartSDR, or rebooting the PC resolves the problem. I can't test that right now but that is what I recall.

I have the USB cable wrapped through a ferrite core about half a dozen times.

This has happened with Windows 10 and WIndows 11.

Same thing here, until I fiddled with Power Management and USB port sleep settings. Apparently USB ports can go to sleep if not continually used.

Hey Bill…Yes, and I had those all sorted on Windows 10. Perhaps when I upgraded to WIndows 11 a higher authority decided to change some things.

Some of the USB settings were different. I reverted to my previous setings.

    Time will tell…
