SWR meter on smartSDR 4.1.5 seems to at first read some higher value and drops?

Hi,

Phantom SWR reading, then it drops to the real reading.

Radio:8400

SmartSDR 1.4.5

Windows 11

I did a search on this topic and didn't find anything much. my question is when I am changing bands, profiles, etc, and need to test the swr, I have a low power tune setting, say 10 watts, and when I first press tune of 10 watts, my swr meter (into a known antenna lower than the reading) may briefly show a higher SWR (let's say 2:1) and then it will start declining until it reaches 1:1.2 within maybe 3 seconds. this is an odd behavior, as most meters don't overshoot the reading and go down, but this one seems to at the "first use". after the first use, it will not do this, until I change profiles or some setup change, and I will see a similar behavior again. it is like it may have a memory of a past SWR from a saved profile or something strange like that, and then averages it into the new reading. is this what is going on? I don't think what I am seeing is "real" as I can even see it into a dummy load, into my amplifier when active, and direct to the antenna sometimes, and it is always on the first ptt (tune) after a profile change.

after the first settling down, it will not exceed the new reading for the rest of the operating session, so i dont think its a connection issue, as it never returns until I change profiles or something like that.

anyone else experience this?
