How about FlexRadio build an equivalent of the Icom 9700

I know it probably would not be a big money maker for Flex,but i sure would love to see it built. I would come,haha.

I would sell my 9700 in a heart beat to buy it if Flex would build one.Anyone else have any interest??

    I don’t think it makes much sense for the Flex market. Those interested are generally just going to get the modern Flex of their choice and run the transverters needed for the VHF+ bands they want to use.

    Many already doing just that. 73

    I ordered transverters at the same time I ordered my 8600. Once I got them and got everything figured out, I put my 9700 on the shelf and its been there every sense.

    @blfuller123 - What transverters did you buy, I see a lot of sketchy ones on the market and want to get one that others recommend.

    I have a Ukrainian transverter that works great, but does not pass spurious emissions standards (not even close...). I found a good 2 meter bandpass filter at a hamfest, so now I can operate it completely legally.

    The Q5 signal transverters are pricey, but are extremely good. If I did more with 2 meters and 70 cm (like satellites), I would get a pair of Q5 units.

    A transverter or two with a Flex is a great way to go.
