Re-activating a long unused 6300

Hello, community. My 6300 has sat unused for about 5 years now. I want to get it going again. My current laptop which I would use to control it has never had SmartSDR on it. I assume I may need to update firmware? If so is there cost involved? Can I use the old firmware with new version of SmartSDR? Please advise on what steps I need to take to get going again. Thank you!

Hi David, the firmware version must match the SmartSDR version on your computer. I would suggest loading V 4.1.5 from the Flex website. Start it, and when prompted, select Upgrade. If you are unable to upgrade, submit a Help Desk ticket. Some older versions have had issues upgrading, but Flex Support can work you through that.

Once you are upgraded, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to SmartSDR+ or to Get Early Access (pick one or the other, but not both). You don't have to upgrade to SmartSDR+ if you are happy with the features that you are currently licensed for. Take a look at the Flex website for more info on how this works and what you get for the money.

You are very welcome! Were you able to get the radio upgraded successfully?

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
