I had a similar experience, with my 6400, and wanted to throw it out of the window. The lack of control over the DSP etc. made it a painful experience and I gave up after a short time at the radio.

If things don’t improve, and I have just read the release notes for the latest update and see no mention of sliders, then I will be ditching the radio.

Utterly useless would be an understatement.

Simon, I have installed 4.1.3 and I have to say that things have not improved. There is no user control except via the API. I can effect improvement in NB for example by adjusting the level with my StreamDeck. But that is not how it should be. Trying the other DSP functions is a challenging experience. RNN mutes my receiver as a case in point.

Also, after several versions since its demise, the tuning function in RTTY mode has still not been reinstated.

I started the CW contest with 4.0.1 but quickly realised it was hopeless and changed to 3.9.19. This proved the Flex hardware is superb and I had a fabulous time with my 8400M and SDC. Sadly though the inescapable truth is that V4 is exactly as you describe in your final sentence.

Perhaps Flex should release an educational video showing the operation of, and resulting improvement to the receiver, for each of the DSP functions in turn and explain how their effectiveness matches the Company's claims of efficacy for them. As it stands those claims are dubious to some degree.
