SSDR+ 4.0.1 DIV?

I tried to use the DIV function with my ALL Flex station, PGXL, AGXL, TGXL and 8600 but something odd happened. Reverence the attached screen shot. When I push the DIV button my AG screen selects for B channel any antenna the will cover that band, including the one that is selected for A channel??? I must be doing something very wrong. If I try to click on the B antenna I want to use nothing happens….

You are using ANT2 for the DIV RX antenna, as this is on the same band as ANT1, the AG is preventing you from using it - you can't be on the same band unless you disable inband protection in the AG utility.

If you do that you need to be 100% sure there is enough separation between antennas and it's only advisable if you know what you are doing.

You can use any RX antenna as the DIV antenna, not just ANT2 - though I guess because you use your AG, everything comes through ANT1 and ANT2?

It's more the restriction of the AG rather than Smart SDR. For instance if you had your RX antenna coming in to the radio and used RXA, it would work fine. I assume you AG is remote so that's not possible?

I don't think there are any notes as such. Nor is there much on the band protection, I just know as have done the same previously.

Someone else here might be able to comment.

Thanks Rich for the quick response. Now I'm a bit confused…. The way DIV is designed to operate in SSDR+ ANT2 will ALWAYS be on the same band and frequency. So, to use AGXL you must disable protection? In my case the RX antenna is muted during transmit but the Vertical is not so thanks for the heads up. is there a document or app note that outlines these important steps to using DIV?

OK, thanks again Rich. I can change the connection for my RX antenna to always be on RXA. In fact that's how it was connected before I changed it to the AGXL.
