Odd "interlock is preventing transmission" hiccup

I just wanted to make a quick post on a transitory "interlock is preventing transmission" that was resolved for no apparent reason.

Recent upgrade to win 11 on a compatible win 10 machine , v4.01 basic and 8600.

I just upgraded my win 10 machine to win 11. I was content to remain on win10 but no Flex support for win10 made me take the leap. One of my three pc's has the tpm 2.0 the other two do not. You can still upgrade to win 11 w/o tpm 2.0.

I upgraded today to SSDR v4.01 basic and that went smooth initially but when I checked to see how third party software was now working that is when I learned that the win 11 upgrade changed some cat ports. Not cat ports in SSDR CAT but the cat port for my KAT500 and some other peripherals. No biggie just reassign in the 3rd party software. Winkeyer USB was one such item that was assigned a new cat port. After changing the settings in the third party software (N1MM+ and DXLog) to reflect the new cat port for WinKeyer USB my 8600 was now having a very difficult time sending cw. I wasn't certain if this was a win 11 issue, a third party software issue or a v4.01 issue. I decided to factory reset the 8600.

After factory reset, a new problem arose which I didn't see until reloading my profiles but it was present prior to reloading profiles. The new issue was the " Interlock is preventing transmission" phantom. Lol both tune button and mox button were now greyed out with TX enabled "red" in the slice flag. I searched the community here but did not see a similar issue / fix. I thought initially, that reloading my profiles caused this issue so another factory reset but no reloading profiles this time and I will just generate new ones…….wrong

After factory reset #2, indeed both the tune button and the mox button remained greyed out w/o importing saved profiles. The only difference now was enabling the TX icon red in the Transmit slice flag had no effect whatsoever ie the radio would still not transmit, both tune and mox remained greyed out but I was no longer even getting the "interlock is preventing transmission" warning. I imported the saved profiles again which allowed the "interlock is preventing transmission" warning to reappear when I tried to transmit. Changing modes had no effect as well. Out of the blue I thought, try enabling "split" in the transmit slice flag. Winner winner chicken dinner.

So for whatever reason, selecting the split function enabled both my tune button and the mox button and removed the rogue interlock issue. Why ? I have no explanation. Hopefully this might help FRS track down the issue.

Besides this hiccup v4.01 basic is working 4.0.
