SO2R with two Flex radios and one PC
Hi all,
I would like to ask for help from anyone who has successfully controlled two Flex radios (in my case, two 6700s) from a single PC.
For 2BSIQ operation, my station really needs to use two separate radios together with an external SO2R box. In my case, the SO2R controller is the K1XM SO2R box.
I can start two instances of SmartSDR, one for each radio, but I cannot start two instances of SmartSDR CAT in the same Windows session. Because of that, I am unable to provide CAT control for the second radio.
I specifically need the second CAT instance so that my logger (DXLog) can read the frequency and mode of the second radio.
I have read that it may be possible to run two SmartSDR/CAT instances by using two separate Windows user accounts, or by controlling the second radio via SmartLink, even on the same LAN.
Has anyone actually done this?
Any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and 73,
Ranko 4O3A
