Windows 11 PRO UPDATE KILLS DAX v4.0.1 Plus

Hi guys, When the new v4.0.1 software became available I jumped on the update. Install went very smooth, even purchasing the PLUS license at $149 went smooth via the radio settings panel and connected website. Though I did notice even though it had been a while since I had purchased items using my account, the password didn't function and comparing my stored password, copying it, and manually entering it fixed that issue.

OK so I was living peacefully for a couple days getting the feel for the new V4 software, and the New HRD v6.9 software and even a new WSJT-X Improved version software was downloaded..(just updated yesterday) anything else? My monitors look all different.

I started getting emails from windows insider bringing up all the things going on at MicroManagement Corporation… Like the elimination of support for W10, and earlier than normal Win 11 22H2, 23H2 and Win 11 24H2 the latter of which I am on. I was now getting pushed for an update for Win 11 25H2… and that just hitting windows update button would keep me supported, **** happy and content.

Research stated everything operational wise between 24H2 and 25H2 uses the same core code, just some features and tightening of the noose around my neck. As I'm one for pain and suffering at the hands of Microsoft I bring up settings and windoz update and hit check for updates. I didn't need any sleep anyway tonight. I hit the button. For sharing the same code I call BS. Just the download took two forevers and install, well I went upstairs and watched TV with my hubby while smoke fill the shack. He has to get up early, so when he called it a night I came back down to monitor the install. The install was like a tortoise that had been run over by a semi truck. Shared Code patoowie… Who were they kidding? ME

I sat there and monitored the next hour or so, and then it rebooted went through things and all seemed well, and I shut it down and called it a night. The next morning surprise!

Software comes up, start radio and I have an error saying no default audio for DAX and a nice RED box where Blue had been the day before. Now the weekend, I perform a survey and find the memory integrity and all the security stuff was locked down, on SSDR boot and just about everything else required allowing my apps clearance through firewall both public and private without any choice to which. Repeated boots didn't fix a thing with SSDR +. Looking at setting audio had no DAX audio for slices 1 thru 8 they were gone. It's been forever since I had been through this the last time, but the DAX warning said help desk ticket so I started one. After a weekend of turning off all sorts of security….. Praying to higher powers….

I completely removed v4.0.1 and all other versions of SSDR. Might as well clean up the directory as I am now subscribed with $$$$ and will not be going backwards. While the software had been working it just had a solid feel to it… I did a fresh boot on the computer, and reinstalled v4.0.1 the radio firmware was fine didn't need a thing the radio came up and all Dax slice channels were back. I turned back on stuff in BIOS. But Then Ken checked in on my ticket and said they hadn't updated the Cat and DAX and memory integrity / core isolation still needed off. Help Ticket Closed. Just a heads up for what awaits you when you get the green light for the 25H2 update it didn't say that was what the update was it just was.
