Congratulations on a Great Update Flex !

I just responded on another forum to someone saying they found the lack of CW APF sliders unimportant. They'd compared v3 to v4 and found they ended up at the same place anyway. Thought I'd just copy that response here. For what it's worth …

"Yeah, impressed here too.  Very impressed.

Considering that Hayley was pretty clear in her video interview that this is all just the beginning, and that in a lot of cases the core heavy lifting is being done by mathematicians and engineers who are not hams themselves, it’s very impressive they’ve done so well on their very first iteration of all of this.  And there is a lot in this update.  As she said, the idea is to put this initial pass of stuff out and get feedback from hams in real use cases and improve and adjust accordingly going forward.  That’s literally the plan.

I’m pretty excited to see where this is going to go from here.  I feel like everybody needs to remember how things were up until now.  Very little happened for almost 15 years and we all complained mightily about it.  And justifiably so.  Now a lot of the things we kept asking for have finally dropped all at once - voice memories, AI based noise reduction, improved various forms of ANF, true diversity reception, auto CW tune not to mention a ton of bug fixes (did everybody notice the analog meter settings are now retained in persistent memory as we requested ?) all wrapped in a new, “only pay if you want it” distribution model.  But by definition this is all obviously first gen right now.  As an aside, I’ve noticed a lot of weird things I was experiencing have gone away as well.  I’ve read other reports of that too.

I actually read someone complaining that Flex went back and recovered some previous noise reduction schemes from PSDR, improved and updated them and included them in v4 as well.  As if having more options suddenly isn’t a good thing somehow ?  As if Flex did something horribly wrong because this person couldn't just not push the d**n button if they didn’t like the feature ?  My God !  We beat Flex up for not providing this stuff then beat the holy c**p out of them when they do.  Give them a chance to absorb the feedback and add back sliders and so forth as appropriate.

If you watch the Hayley interview it seems clear to me she’s going to deliver on her promises and things are going to just keep getting better and better from here.  If I’m wrong I’m wrong but I’d bet on that.

My two cent’s worth, proceed with the flaming.
