Flex radio virtual ports COM port numbered assignments conflicting with USB serial device

When I attach a USB serial device (in this case a QRP labs QDX radio) to my Windows 11 laptop, the operating system assigns it a numbered port matching the highest order Flex Radio virtual com port already in use e.g. COM 7 in my case (and consequently I can't operate the QDX radio also assigned to COM 7). When I delete the highest numbered Flex virtual COM port (from within SDR CAT), the problem repeats (albeit shifting to a lower number e.g. COM 5). Otherwise, the Flex virtual ports all function normally. This appears to be a Windows issues and I'm looking for help.

If I understand you correctly, the problems sounds like a faulty QRP labs comport driver. However, you maybe be able to go into the Device Manage > Ports (COM & LPT), select the QRP labs port and edit it's COM port number. Hopefully the edit will stick through reboots and power cycles.

You might also try to arrange the Flex com port numbers such that you have an unused port below the first Flex port.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
