I got fed up waiting for yet another replacement to arrive from the agent, so decided to pull one apart and passed it onto a friend who has expertise in this area.
Cutting a long story short, the cells were charged by him gently and have retained the charge overnight, so conclude the Battery Management System (BMS) contained within the battery casing is causing the failure to charge problem when in the Maestro C.
There is a German mfg which heads the Co information shown on the last page of the RRC sales brochure, so I will contact them to seek help in obtaining one of their pcb BMS boards, fingers crossed! I would really appreciate help from any German Owners who could help me in contacting the Co.
As I wrote this a new battery arrived!
The label mentions: Made in Taiwan Engineered in Germany. That’s different.
One LED illuminated when the check sw S1 was pressed. So recharged overnight and now shows 4 LED’s when pressed. Next job to run in the Maestro and see how long it lasts then another charge.
What a saga!
If I am able to obtain a genuine BMS board for my original pack then It could be a useful spare as these represent a considerable cost.
