SmartSDR for iPad HF Fax crosshatch pattern overlaying image?
I tried the HF Fax Mode on the latest SmartSDR for iPad and am seeing a slanted crosshatch pattern overlaying the decoded weather images at about a 30 degree angle. I was connected locally to a Flex 6600 and tried another friend's 6400 700 miles away and see the pattern on each radio. Network stats are perfect, no dropped packets. I simultaneously tried HF Fax on SDR-Control connected to an Icom IC-705, no crosshatch pattern. Also decoded the fax using Fldigi on a PC, no crosshatch. Also tried Fldigi using a microphone to listen to the audio from the iPad, no crosshatch. I've tried narrowing and opening the filters on the iPad to surround just the signal without luck. No underlying carrier or other noise source is present, spectrum is clean when the wx transmission stops.
Marcus, the author of SmartSDR for ios said he cannot reproduce the problem. Does anyone else have SmartSDR on an iPad and seen this pattern? Could you try it you have the time? I was decoding the USA - NMF transmission on 9.110 Mhz. The image looks pretty good other than the crosshatch, syncs nicely etc.
