Flex 5000 & Windows 11

I am helping an older ham get his 5000 going after he bought a new windows 11 machine. The new computer has a fire wire card in it but it does not "see" the Flex. When I boot up all it has is the "demo" feature. Any ideas? I know it is an old setup but he prefers it and is what he knows. We are using the Power SDR KE9NS v2.8.0 with the rig also. Any ideas on this? Any computer guru's out there that could remote into his machine and sort it out for pay? He's missing radio badly and I am determined to get him back on the air.

Thanks & 73 de W5XJ

Firewire card driver installed? You need to download the last version of PowerSDR from Flex Radio first and install it. The correct Firewire driver is installed when you install PowerSDR. There is a utility from Flex Radio that installed that will let you configure the Firewire card and the driver. Be sure you have the Firewire cable installed correctly. Power on the radio before starting PowerSDR. If you still have problems, it could be the chipset on the card that is causing the problem. Texas Instruments chipset is preferred although the VIA chipset will work. Other than that, the only other thing besides a defective card or radio, would be the Windows Firewall blocking the communication between the Firewire card and the radio. If turning off the Firewall fixes the problem, then you will need to edit Windows Firewall and make an exception for PowerSDR.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
