    Hi James,

Did this occur after a Windows update ? I have auto updates and device updates in general turned off in the registry so I've been immune to things like this so far but I see them reported in the forums all the time. Apparently the fix is to go into windows' audio settings and reset the default audio device which is often set to something undesirable by the update. I don't know if that's what you're seeing... I hope this helps !

Yes I do run my windows 11 pro auto updates. And yes I heard that these updates can mess up audio/sound drivers for a lot of hams operating WSJT X FT8 FLDIGI etc. Etc.

One of the advantages of Windoze pro is the ability to turn off updates.

You bet that is why I updated all of my Home editions to Windows Pro.

I did some testing with this today. I notice that I only see these audio input error dialogs on Windows , "After" I been running my Flex 6400 with the iPhone14 Pro on IOS or on the iPad Pro , then when I go back to my Desktop PC and bring up Smart SDR is when I see these dialogs.

    James,
Not sure if this applies to your situation, but in my experience, that error occurred when the default Windows audio output device had changed.
I'd suggest double-checking that the default Windows audio output device is set to a valid, working device—ideally the one (Speakers?) you intend to use with SmartSDR.

I tracked this error down to my IOS when I open up smart link with iPhone and switch the mic to Iphone then the error pops up on my PC smart link saying the audio device has changed. So this is what is generating the pop up dialogs on he PC side. When I swiche between PC smart link to IOS smart link. Now why would it be doing this ?
