TCP port not open
I checked the Flex IP address in Settings (192.168 etc) and did a netstat -n from the windows command prompt to see which TCP ports were running. There is no similar radio IP address listed. Does netstat -n show all of the addresses available when the 6700 is running running?
I'm trying to run SDC contest log where the SmartSDR API Client connects through TCP port 4992 which appears not to be available.
Is there a way to ensure the radio address is available and open?
TIA
Duncan.

netstat -n does provide a list as below where .108 is the machine on which SSDR and SDC are running and .104 is the address of the radio:
netstat -n
TCP 192.168.68.108:50153 192.168.68.104:4992 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.68.108:50154 192.168.68.104:4992 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.68.108:50165 192.168.68.104:4992 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.68.108:50200 192.168.68.104:4992 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.68.108:50201 192.168.68.104:4992 ESTABLISHEDIf there are no connections but the port is available you should see LISTENING instead of ESTABLISHED.
If you do not, I would first see if in the Windows Firewall whether there are entries for SDC and one of them is for all ports TCP:
If you have this but no connection, you might try opening the port in Firewall and reboot. But really the installation of SDC should take care of everything and perhaps there is some other hidden underlying reason such as the port being blocked by another application. This can be found with
netstat -ano | findstr :4992
If there is an application using 4992 the result will a line showing a PID number at the end.
taskkill /pid 11200 /F
will terminate the process occupying 4992 where 11200 above was the PID found in the netstat command.

Hello Erik,
Thanks for your reply and all of the useful info. I've never had reason to delve into tcp ports before so grateful for the insight.
Following your instructions I got
the attached results, but am at a loss if I can delete the PIDs.
You will notice the title banner shows what's running and for all 4992 is shown "Established" it will not connect to SDC, presumably as something else has it tied up.
Can I delete these PIDs and will they automatically be created at start up?
Regards
Duncan.

Hi Duncan,
What is it that has IP address of 192.168.1.10 ? Is that your radio? If so, it looks like SDC has connected or at least did so at some point.
If you have checked the Firewall and SDC has TCP ports set to open, it might be worth completely uninstalling SDC. It settings will be retained. Then run the netstat -ano | findstr 4992 command again and see if you get a different result.
You can delete PIDs and the associated task will be terminated. If they are wanted programs set to start on boot, they will be started as normal.
Reboot and reinstall SDC - if you are on version 18, go to
https://www.lw-sdc.com/wp-content/uploads/SDC_18.04x64_setup.zip
if you are on version 17, go to
https://www.lw-sdc.com/wp-content/uploads/SDC_17.34x64_setup.zip
and try again.
For PIDs that you cannot terminate, I do not know the answer to that. But I need to know what is 192.168.1.10 before committing to any other advice as I don't want to make matters worse.
Erik.

Hi Erik.
Thanks for all your invaluable advice. The IP ad 192.168.1.10 is the Flex 6700/
After much messing about I finally took your tip and uninstalled / reinstalled UDC.
Everything works again
As usual I learn more by trying to fix stuff ! or as we used to say "if it aint broke don't fix it"
It's great to know there are still those that are willing to share their time and knowledge.
Thanks again.
