    Mark,

Did you check to see if your TX Delay was still at 40 ms after the upgrade?

    Hi Mark,

I just updated to the new radio firmware and am not seeing this. I'm running the latest PGXL, TGXL and AG stuff as well.

Of course the first thing to do is verify there isn't actually something causing high SWR like a bad or disconnected transmission line or some change at the antenna end. I assume you've already checked all of that.

Make sure you're running all the latest f/w too, then save all your configurations and do hard resets of at least the radio and PGXL. When doing the radio be sure to include all the wait times and all the unplugging recommendations. I've seen at least one report that including unplugging Ethernet cables did the trick as well. And I've heard more than one report that doing two hard resets in a row fixed things.

If this just happened after updating the radio my guess is that will fix it. But if not, I'd submit a support ticket. I've had a weird number of "coincidences" where one thing went sideways at the exact time I changed something that turned out to be totally unrelated. Drives me crazy !

Downgrading to the prior version. It definitely has been in the purple and please wait for a while. DIdn't think it would take that long!

Okay, I downloaded and installed the prior version of the Radio Firmware. My PGXL does not give me any error messages about HIGH SWR BY HARDWARE. I did the installation of the new Firmware doing the cold boot stuff and it still is causing major issues with my PGXL. Evidently there is something wrong with the newest version of firmware that it will not work with the PGXL. Flexradio needs to get this fixed ASAP!

Russ, Why one has to jump through a bunch of Hoops to get this to work is beyond me. Right now it works on the old version. I will have to try the new version again and do a cold reboot twice on the Radio and may unplug the PGXL and then plug it in again and try that.

    Hi Mark,

Sorry you're having this problem. This kind of stuff is very frustrating. Besides Dave's suggestion above, I don't know what else to recommend. As I mentioned I'm not having any problem with my PGXL and haven't seen any other reports of this (but I definitely could have missed some). At a minimum it doesn't seem to be a pervasive problem with this update. The only thing I can think of is to open a support ticket but I just saw a notice from Flex that they're pretty backed up with those right now so the timing isn't great. Still, they'll ultimately be able to figure out what's going on and get you going.

There are a couple of real powerhouse Elmers on this forum and Dave WO2X who suggested you check your TX Delay is one of them. I hope that works !

    Okay,

It is now working with 3.9.18. I set the TX Delay to 40 and there are no issues whatsoever with regards to SWR. Yet when I received my 8400M that setting I had at 0 and with SmartSDR Version 3.8.23 I was getting any High SWR Warnings. So Case is now closed.

The Flex Radio Dream Station configuration document in the Flex Knowledge Base recommends setting TX Delay to 40 ms.

Glad it fixed it. Go FRC!
