6600M ATU Question
I purchased a used 6600M at Dayton a few weeks ago. So far it has worked really well. On 2 occassions though I have experienced an oddity when changing bands the ATU will start a tuning cycle keying the rig automatically. I was using SmartSDR for MacOS if that makes a difference. After it did it last night I did go into SmartSDR and tell it to clear the ATU memories, I most likely should have done a clean reset after purchase but I didn't. I think both times it was when switching to 20M. I use a Steppir so no need for the tuner on 20M. Last night I let it run for a few seconds and it did "find a match" and was as normal after that.

I don't think any of our native software should initiate a tune on the internal tuner just due to a band/frequency change. It CAN switch in a recent successful ATU match when you are tuning around if ATU Mem is turned on, but this should be really fast as the settings should already be known.

Ok that is what I was thinking. It was just odd it occurred just by switching the bands. Didn't make sense to me. I've never experienced it with my 6400M I have at my remote site.
