Back on Tuesday May 6, 2025 we had a severe thunderstorm roll through Central Texas and took down or ISP for the day. The storm rolled through around 11:30 am CST. Along the strike taking down my ISP for the rest of the day. The strike took out my TP Link AXE 5400 router but left the Spectrum Cable modem alone (Weird) Surely the strike must have came through the internet coax. Because everything else was unplugged. I just forgot the coax. Along with that strike it also popped two UEFI breakers in the house. I am just wondering if any other Flex users have seen this before ? I have seen lightning strikes do strange things. I tried factory resetting the router about five times but came to the conclusion that the router was damaged and TP link did replace it under warranty. But to this day I amazed at how the modem was not hit but the router was because both were connected together. Just a thought. I Flex users we got to protect our equipment.
