FlexControl Knob

Hello,
I am new to Flex Radio. Been reviewing available accessories. I can't seem to find the info I need in any of the product docs.

I would like to hear how other Flex owners are using their FlexControl Knob.
Also, If you have a Maestro do you still find any use for the Flex Control Knob?

Thank you.

Mark

The flex knob has 3 small programmable push buttons and the larger rotatable knob, which can also do something when pushed.

Given the size, the main knob would be used for tuning a slice and then the 3 smaller buttons for anything else e.g. turning RIT on or off etc You can set it up to do a lot of things.

Have al look from page 57 onwards to see what is possible.

I have a 6600M (so the Maestro built on to the radio) but also use 2 flex knobs as find that easier to control settings. In contests I use 2 keyboards (one for each slice/radio) so I position the flex knobs next to each keyboard. Main knob tunes the slice then the 3 buttons all do something else.

The great thing is they can be programmed to do so much and people will have different use cases.

Having the FlexControl next to the keyboard is indispensable.

I use it for main tuning. I have the memories setup for tuning, volume and agc. Sometimes I change the agc to cw speed.

I don't have a Maestro or the M model, but even if I did, I would still have a FlexControl. Its so much easier to use vs reaching for the knob on the front of a Maestro or an M model.

I'm all glass panel here. The only interface(s) I use to control my station is the keyboard, mouse and FlexControl. That's it. All my equipment is now rack mounted and off of the operating desk. I need to update my QRZ page.
