is the 8xxx display different than the 6xxx display

in FLEX-8000 Signature Series

I have had 2 6400M radios and both have had display failures, including the one I am currently using and hoping it will last until my 8xxx arrives. Would like to have an 8xxxM but I'm a little concerned about the display.

Is the new 8xxxM display better than the older 6xxxM series?

    Better is subjective. They are new and should last a long time. I believe only time will tell if the new radio's display is better. The 6600M I had was from the first batch built in 2018. When I sent it in for trade-in the display was just as bright and sharp as the day I received it at the end of February 2018. In all that time I never heard of anyone having a display failure.

    I think it’s luck of the draw. My 6600M display working fine after 7+ years of almost daily use.

    Yes. The display on the FLEX-8000 M models is different than the one used in the FLEX-6000 M models. It is, however, the same display as what we use in our current production Maestro.

    Eric, different in what way? I can see it being new hardware and possibly capable of higher resolution. But, beyond that, I can't imagine what might be a noticeable improvement. Of course when my 8600M finally arrives ( hopefully in the not so distant future) I might be able to see (With my good eye ) a big improvement.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
