DSP problem?

Hi all Flex hams...

Got 8400 with 3.8.23 soft and I noticed last night that my sound dissapears in SSB after a while, when NR + ANF enabled... ...hmmm

I did`t notice that in cw mode, that strange...

Is this a software or hardware issue, have anybody else the same experience?

Best Regards

    Hey Marc!

    Welcome to the club!

As you can see from this thread, flex has assigned a SMART "bug" # to it and we all eagerly waiting for a solution.

Hi Marc, I don't know how long you have been using your 8000 radio, but by the sound of it, its mostly on CW. I'm a bit surprised that more people haven't commented on this bug and even more susprised that Flex didn't find it during field testing the 8000 series radios. Hopefullythere will be a fix for it soon. I wrote a review of the 8600 on Eham.net and look forward to being able to up-rate my comments on the radio which I otherwise am really impressed with.

I think the reason you may not see many reports of this issue is not everyone runs the ANF all the time when using Noise reduction. I would imagine that this problem will be fixed in an update before too long.

That's what we're hoping, James. Personally, I run ANF all the time with SSB because of all the carriers and tuner-uppers out there. NR makes it more pleasant to listen to. So for me, I would like to use the combination frequently.

Brian, I am hoping it gets fixed soon too. I have a preorder in for a 8600M. I was told 12 to 14 weeks a month ago when I ordered. But, given all the posts I have seen, It may well be longer than that. Hopefully, before the 9000 radios get released!

Glad Iam not alone out there!
So it's rather a software problem than my rig, witch is under guarantee of course... ... Let
s see if the engineers at Flex can do som magic then...
