6600 ATU when Using Tuner Genius XL

Member ✭✭
I would think the internal ATU in the 6600 needs to be disabled when utilizing the Tuner Genius XL. That leads me to two questions I've not been able to find in the Tuner documentation.

1. Does the ATU button in the SmartSDR control the tuning of the Antenna Genius XL? It doesn't appear that it does, but I just want to confirm.

2. How do I ensure the internal tuner on the 6600 is always in bypass mode? Or is this necessary? I would think it is.

right now the ATU button controls internal tuner. Future software will allow control from client.

Make sure ATU light is off.

What I have found out is that the ATU has to be off AND the Mem has to be off. With those two off, the ATU internal to the 6600 will try to kick in.

when the radio ATU button is off, the internal tuner is in bypass.

If you have followed the manual’s configuration instructions, you should only need to tap the atUNE button on the Tuner Genius to start a tune cycle. The TG XL will key the radio with power level defined for TUNE in the TX Band Settings.
