Bluetooth Headset Only with VOX

I reviewed the many discussions on using a BT headset. I ahve a Flex 6700 and have tried this on two different PC (Win 10 and another Win 11) where I install the BT headset, set it as the Windows default for audio play and mic. Works with all apps and with SSDR 3.8.20 the mic only works if I have VOX enabled. Unchecking VOX, the mic on the headset does not work with PTT or MOX. I am not using DAX, I selected Default for Mic and PC for audio - I hear the SDR audio quite well. In VOX, mic sounds quite good but I dont want to use VOX as its either too sensitive to background. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

The use of the PC Audio and PC Microphone input is covered on pages 74-76 of the SmartSDR Software User Guide: https://www.flexradio.com/documentation/smartsdr-software-user-guide-pdf/

"When operating in a non-DIGx mode, using a hardware PTT such as the RCA PTT input on the back panel or the front panel microphone, local activation of the PTT will override the remote PTT. This feature allows the user at the radio to override the remote input with a PTT switch connected directly to the radio."

This means that the Hardware PTT is not available when using the PC Audio Mic input, since it forces a default to the last hardware Mic input used with the PTT.

You will need to use VOX, MOX, or configure a USB PTT input using a device such as this:
