Is it possible to hear the CW sidetone via the Apple AirPods?

I managed to have sound in my AirPods for FT8 and SSB and CW, but when sending CW I don't have the sidetone in my AirPods… Can someone tell me the correct settings or isn't it possible the have sidetone on AirPods ?

Dirk, I spent a few minutes to investigate your issue and I also was not able to route sidetone to my AirPods. Sidetone appears to only be available at the radio, I suspect due to latency in remote usage. However, to use AirPods locally it would be a welcomed feature. I have contacted Marcus, the software developer, to see if there is anything that can be done.

Dirk, it doesn't appear that this is possible though you can use CWX, CW macros, or as Marcus suggests use his internal keyer tool.

Flex is missing this in their Radios. Flex doesn’t send anything back to a client so a client is not able to generate any side tone when keys are solely connected to the radio.

My app (and only my app and not Flex’s app) can however generate a local side-tone but for this, you need to use the app included keyer.

So yes, if you have the halikey dongle (or the CTR2) you need to use that.
