LOG4OM Spots SmartSdr

I'm starting to use LOG4OM. I'm having no trouble connecting LOG4OM to SmartSdr with Omnirig.

I'm also using Slicemaster to display spots on SmartSdr which is working fine. Although I wonder if it's possible to post spots with color codes directly from LOG4OM.

The behavior I'm looking for is to click on a spot on SmartSdr and have the callsign appear in the callsign box in LOG4OM.

I've read the LOG4OM user guide and numerous posts but I can't get this to work. The user guide (page 226 in the current edition) suggests using Hamlib and Slicemaster. I went through the process of installing hamlib and writing a batch file to set it to com 4 however none of the instructions are clear on the radio id. Using hamlib with these instructions was not successful in connecting LOG4OM to the radio at all.

So back to Omnirig. Some instructions say not to use Slicemaster and Omnirig at the same time. Can't figure that one out.

  1. Is the behavior of clicking on a spot in SmartSdr to populate the callsign in LOG4OM possible?
  2. If so, does anyone have some straightforward detailed instructions to accomplish this?
  3. I haven't even started exploring digital modes so I'm looking for the best practice for LOG4OM to communicate with SmartSdr.

Thank you for any help.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
