SSDR doesn't see Flex-6700

Hi everyone,
I wanted to work with my Flex-6700 with SSDR under MacOs. My radio was always visible but recently when trying to connect there is only a demo. I do not have a firewall or other security enabled. When I send a ping Flex responds. I tried to manually enter the IP address of my Flex and once the connection was successful. Today the same problem again. Has anyone had this problem? I am working on Sequoia 15.1.1. Win10 connects to the radio without any problems.

    try this (from memory).

Instead of clicking on connect, try either command-click, or control-click.

I remember with my M1 Mini I had to do that then when it showed the radio, there is a checkbox to make it the default radio.

    Hi,

I have tried all possible settings in MacOs and also in the router. Unfortunately, Flex-6700 is not visible in MacOs. Marcus - the creator of SSDR did not help me either. Due to the PV installation, I had to connect my Asus router with a second router in a Mesh network so that the inverter would be visible in the PV application. Marcus suggested that the Mesh network is unstable and that could be the problem. But if everything works correctly in WIN10, why is there a problem on MacOs? I have to regretfully give up working Flex-6700 on MacOs.

    Best regards,
    Slawomir

I run my intranet / Internet on WiFI-6 ASUS MESH Network with 4 Routers in the home and Shop, When I run my station on my MAC or WIN PC's I have NO problems connecting to my Flex6700 so unless you have some settings on your Routers set wrong so I don't think it would be your ASUS Mesh network.

I would look for a problem with a 3rd party firewall, VPN or other software issue especially if you can connect to it with your WIN10 installation.

Hi, today I also noticed an interesting relationship. When I turn off the SSDR icon slider in the system settings - privacy and security - local network and turn it back on, the radio is visible and connects without a problem. After restarting the computer, I have to do it again for Flex to connect. Doesn't this look like some kind of Sequoia bug? Slawomir

Good observation. I have seen this type of behavior on macOS with several other applications, and without exception, the issue was a problem with the application itself, not macOS.

    Hi Slawomir,

You said you have no firewall. Does that mean you turned MacOS Sequoia's incoming firewall off?

It is controlled via System Settings > Network > Firewall. By default, it is "on".

If your Mac has it is set to "on"…

MacOS Sequoia apparently has incoming firewall issue affecting UDP packets (used for Flex/Mac communication). Some have noted that if MacOS incoming firewall is turned off, it seems to resolve the issue.

I tried it on my 15.1.1 backup Mac mini. Seems to work. And, fails when I turn MacOS incoming firewall back on.

I prefer operating with MacOS firewall on, so not a solution for me. I'll wait for more Apple bug fixes.

But, maybe that "on" / "off" test might help with your mystery?

    Hi everyone,
My problem has been solved. Apple Support advised me to delete some files in the network library. There were remnants of VPN configuration after cloning the system from the previous iMac. The next Sequoia update should improve the network performance. Thank you all for your help and kindness.
