AG2x8 - Receive antenna question

KI5RLR

I would like to select one rx-only antenna on port B, and leave it there all the time and only 'disconnect' anytime I key a radio on Port A. After the transmission on port A is complete I would like for it to switch back to the rx-only antenna on Port B. How should I set this up?

Maybe I am going about it wrong. The purpose of the rx-only antenna is mainly for a KiwiSDR I setup.

Thanks and 73s

Is the antenna question a receive only antenna? If so why not use RX_A or RX_B depending on your FlexRadio model. This way you won't take up a port on the Antenna Genius (AG), saying that if you still need to use the AG to switch in your receive only antenna, it would be wise to change the AG antenna settings so you cannot accidentally transmit on that antenna.

In my case the AG is located at the base of my tower, with two coax feed lines connecting back to the shack.

I would like to use one of the antenna ports for a dedicated receive antenna for my Kiwi SDR. Basically I want the AG to 'rest' on one antenna and coax feedline, then switch when I PTT on my transceiver, then back again to resting on the receive antenna.

IIRC - Setting one of the AG ports (A or B) to manual gives that port priority over the other port. Maybe I am wrong, or there is a way to override the manual setting.

    Thanks!
